On October 29, Governor Mike DeWine and JobsOhio announced the new JobsOhio Energy Opportunity Initiative, a groundbreaking $100 million program to boost economic development in Ohio's energy sector through natural gas and nuclear power projects.

It provides grants and low-interest loans over a five-year period to support companies with projects related to energy infrastructure, including site preparation for nuclear facilities, workforce training, and attracting supply chain businesses for small modular reactors (SMRs). JobsOhio and its regional partners will identify and support eligible projects and companies.
