Income Tax Incentives


Many Ohio municipalities have chosen to create local Income Tax Incentive Programs as a key tool in their economic development toolbox. In these programs, business can earn income tax rebates, grants or abatements based upon the creation or retention of jobs in the community. Income Tax Incentive programs are governed by Ohio Revised Code and face significant public and elected official scrutiny because the income tax is a major source of local government funding in Ohio. This webinar, conducted in partnership with Bricker & Eckler, will look at the state law governing local income tax incentive programs, highlight some case studies of communities that have used best practice in developing their programs, and identify some lessons learned over time with income tax incentive programs.
